Two NH Mothers Honored for 2007 The New Hampshire Association of American Mothers, Inc. has chosen an outstanding Mother to represent the State in the 2007 National American Mother Awards, to be held April 25 to the 28th, at the American Mothers, Inc. 72th annual convention in Las Vegas, NV. This award recognizes the contributions from Mothers all over the United States who have instilled the moral and spiritual values of God, family, and country in their home and community.
The New Hampshire Association of AMI is proud to announce that this years recipient of the 2007 New Hampshire 'Mother of the Year' award is Mrs. Sharon A. Stewart, from Hooksett, NH
Sharon was born in Texas and is the oldest of 6 children. She currently resides in Hooksett with her husband, Robert. They have two children, daughter Jaime (29), and son Jeffrey (27). Sharon was nominated and sponsored for New Hampshire Mother of the Year by her employer Brown, Olson and Gould, PC, a legal firm in Concord, NH. Mrs. Stewart has worked as a legal secretary and administrative assistant for over seventeen years. Her activities outside of work include volunteer leader for her church's Women Retreat Team; directing the Sacred Dance Choir at the Bow Mills United Methodist Church; providing breakfasts to the homeless, with her husband, in the Friendly Kitchen in Concord; Sunday School teacher and acolyte trainer; and acting as a director for murder mystery plays for youth in the area.
When asked how she feels about her mother being awarded 2007 New Hampshire Mother of the Year, Sharon's daughter Jaime said: "My hero is my Mom. Not a celebrity or a sport figure, but my Mom&.to me a hero is someone you can depend on and trust. That's my Mom." Mrs. Stewart will represent New Hampshire at a gala ball in Las Vegas as well as attend convention activities which include a three minute presentation on the convention theme 'The Magic of Motherhood.'
Attending the 2007 national American Mothers, Inc. convention with Mrs. Stewart, will be Mrs. Tressa Ryan from Brentwood, NH. Tressa has been selected 2007 New Hampshire 'Young Mother of the Year.' Tressa was last years 'Honor Mother' and has been working with the New Hampshire based mothers association on numerous community service projects, including Mother Mentoring. Mrs. Ryan, is a clinical therapist and owner of Tressa Ryan Coaching, Inc., a life coaching practice. She co-authored a book and manual entitled 'Extraordinary Year for Women' and works with women and moms who 'seek more peace, joy, satisfaction, and success in their lives.' She lives in Brentwood with her husband Tom, and their two sons Jonah (4) and Noah (7).
