American
Mothers,Inc.
is a non-political, inter-racial, inter-faith, non-profit organization.
For over 65 years AMI has been making significant contributions
to American society through its broadbased programming targeted
at the key issues and challenges facing families today. AMI was
organized in 1933 by a group of New York mothers dedicated to
focusing attention on the contributions of mothers to the home,
the community, the nation and the world. Sara Delano Roosevelt
was its' first honorary chair.
AMI is strategically
positioned to provide educational,cultural and spiritual programs
as well as opportunities for service. AMI is recognized by the
United States Chamber of Commerce as the official sponsor of Mother's
Day and is a non-government organization member of the United
Nations with an AMI representative on its Board of Directors.
The
New Hampshire Association of American Mothers, Inc.
was formed in 1960 and with its rapidly growing membership is
committed to making a difference, in New Hampshire and nationally,
as a group of mothers helping mothers as they face the overwhelming
challenges confronting the family today.
